Allergy alert – shrimp

According to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, Nestlé Prepared Foods Company is recalling a limited quantity of one variety of LEAN CUISINE® Dinnertime Selects which is mislabeled. The packaging identifies the meal as containing chicken, however, an error has been discovered and approximately 200 packages contain shrimp. The product possibly was shipped to retailers in Alaska, Florida, Idaho, Oregon and Washington state. The recall affects LEAN CUISINE® Dinnertime Selects Chicken Fettuccini/UPC code 13800-14880 with a production code of 1253595911G and a “best before” date of October 2012. Consumers who have purchased to the product may contact Nestlé consumer services at (800) 542-6935, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, to receive a full refund.

According to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, Flowers Foods is recalling several varieties of “Mrs. Freshley’s cereal bars” in dual language packages due to undeclared milk. The product was sold in discount stores in the U.S. in a French-English multipack carton and to food and convenience stores in the Quebec and Ontario provinces of Canada.  The recall affects:

According to Food Safety News, a California company is recalling approximately 72 pounds of tongue and blood sausage because of mislabeling and an undeclared allergen. The product contains hydrolyzed soy protein, which is not declared on the label, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Thursday. Soy is a known allergen. – Read the details here.

According to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network, Posh Bakery is recalling “Butter Mini Croissants” and “Chocolate Mini-Croissants” due to undeclared egg. The recalled items were sold in many Whole Foods Market stores in northern California. The products are packaged in 12-pack, 12-oz clear plastic clamshell containers with Whole Foods Market labeling. The recall affects all expiration best-buy dates and lot codes prior to July 6, 2011. The recall affects “Croissants Mini Butter 12PC Whole Foods” with UPC 21609300000 and “Croissant Mini Chocolate 12PC” with UPC 21609400000. The products were sold behind the deli case in select retail markets in Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington. The recall affects all Risvold’s seafood salad with “use by” dates prior to 071111 and all Risvold’s seafood pasta with “use by” dates prior to 071711.
